Laying of service media is a key element in infrastructure development. Therefore, underground service is everywhere laid and reconstructed. The best method of laying service media is horizontal directional drilling (HDD). The HDD allows you to carry out work under operating roads, structures, ponds and other infrastructural facilities.

Bentonite makes the basis of drilling fluid for HDD/

The basic requirements to the drilling mix:

Low sand content (less than 1%).
Ability of bentonite to swell up quickly in water (usually it shouldn’t take more than 20 minutes for the preparation of fluid for HDD).

Only high-quality bentonite raw materials with montmorillonite content of 75% and more is used for the production of bentonite powder for HDD. Natural highly active bentonite from “Ziryanskoye”, “Dash-Salakhlinskoye” and “Tagansky” deposits owned by our company are used as a raw material base.

A high-quality drilling fluid when laying service media by HDD method ensures:

effective removal of cuttings from the cavity of the drill path;
bore hole walls stability for the entire construction period;
accident free sliding when pipeline pulling;
optimal cooling of rock destruction tool and rods.

Interesting fact: special bentonites are used for HDD capable of forming high-viscosity suspensions in extremely low concentrations – max 15-20 kg/m3. This is 5 times lower than concentration of ordinary bentonite of similar viscosity.

When laying service media by HDD method the following grades of bentonite products are used:

BENTONITE POWDERS HDD - 1, HDD - 2

Bentonite powders HDD (ГНБ) - 1, HDD (ГНБ) - 2 are intended for the drilling fluids preparation during the construction of crossings and the laying of services using HDD method. They are produced from high-quality bentonite of Ziryanskoye deposit (Kurgan region, Russia).

BENTONITE POWDER HDD - 30

Bentonite powders HDD (ГНБ) – 30 is intended for the construction of crossings and the laying of services using HDD method.

SPEICAL BENTONITES PBMA-EXTRA AND PBM-ETALON

PBMA-EXTRA and PBM-ETALON are used for the preparation of drilling fluids based on mineralized water (including sea water) and on salt saturated technical water and do not require any special water treatment before drilling fluid preparation.

SUPERGEL POLYMER-MINERAL ADDITIVE FOR HDD

SUPERGEL is a multifunctional polymer-mineral additive. The composition of SUPERGEL includes environmentally friendly natural mineral components based on activated hydrocarbons of nutrients.
