BentIzol® and MASTERBENT® geosynthetic clay liners (GCLs)
Geosynthetic clay liner is a rolled geosynthetic material design for waterproofing. It is used as a impervious screen and for protection of buried parts of building structures against moisture, including for protection against penetration of contaminating substances into soil and groundwater.

The material consists of high-quality bentonite granules/powder evenly distributed between the woven and non-woven polypropylene geotextile connected using needle-punching method.
Geosynthetic clay liner BentIzol® and MASTERBENT® meet the requirements of GOST R 70090-2022 “Rolled geosynthetic bentonite materials for waterproofing. General technical conditions”.
GCLs have the following properties:
- High waterproof properties: clay liners coefficient of permeability equal to 10-11–10-12 m/sec demonstrates super low water permeability
- Self-healing in case of mechanical damage
- High strength, resistant to tear, damage, soil shear and settlement
- Eco-friendliness: due to sorption properties of bentonite clay absorbing hydrocarbons, heavy metal cations and radioactive nuclides
- Cost-effectiveness and easy to install:
- special preparation of the base and seams welding are no required;
- no limitations in terms of weather conditions, since the GCLs keep their flexibility at a temperature of up to -70°C
- Durability: the service life is comparable to this of the facility

Application:
- Mining industry
- Landfills
- Hydraulic engineering
- Oil industry
- Power engineering
- Reclamation of contaminated territories
- Industrial and civil construction
- Transport construction
